ISO_C_BINDING is a Fortran-feature, which allows for seamless integrations with C-code. It's a relatively new feature and only newer compilers supported it. However, most parts of CP2K do not require it. So, if you get compiler error messages mentioning ISO_C_BINDINGS, try to compile with -D__HAS_NO_ISO_C_BINDING.
